Mt. Vernon Township High School, located in Mount Vernon, Ill., offers various academic programs in English, science, mathematics and social studies to students in grades nine through 12. It provides language courses in French and Spanish. Its library provides various resources, such as books, magazines, encyclopedias and newspapers. Its fall sports include soccer, football, tennis, volleyball, football, cross country and fall cheerleading. Its winter sports include basketball, swimming, wrestling and indoor track. Its spring sports include baseball, track and field, golf, and softball. The school provides lunch and has a guidance department. It has various bands, such as cadet, varsity and symphony, and orchestra, choir and chorus groups. It has various student organizations, including speech and acting, mock trial and scholar bowl. Mt. Vernon Township High School publishes newspaper and has a yearbook.
