The Siskiyou Opportunity Center, also known as SOC, is a private, nonprofit organization that provides vocational skills training for adults with disabilities. The center has been providing job development and placement services to individuals aged 18 and older since 1970. It maintains more than 15 work locations that serve over 50 people every day. The Siskiyou Opportunity Center serves people diagnosed with mental, physical, emotional and developmental disabilities. It offers training in the areas of recycling, landscaping, retail sales and housekeeping. The center operates a woodshop that provides opportunities for residents to develop wood working skills. It also offers training in the areas of document shredding, copying, bulk mailing, mail processing, phone answering, message taking, computer navigation, typing and document filing. The Siskiyou Opportunity Center maintains a location in Mount Shasta, Calif.
