General Info

Dr. Chris Betrus comes to us from the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan. During high school, he was an accomplished baseball and basketball player, but began focusing his energy towards clinical research once he began his studies at the University of Michigan. Following graduation, he joined Teach For American, where he taught high school Biology for several years in South Chicago. It was at that time he gained his love for Chicago, and its diverse communities. After completing his teaching commitment, he attended Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago where is gained his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his residency at the renowned Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA under the directorship of Dr. Alan R. Catanzariti, serving as Chief Resident during his third year. Currently, he is advancing his surgical training as the Fellow for the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute under the guidance of Dr. Lowell Weil Jr. and Dr. Matthew Sorensen, while also holding his own clinics in Libertyville and Mount Prospect. When he is not working, Dr. Betrus enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Andrea, cooking, cycling, and playing with their miniature schnauzer Ollie.
