The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is administered by the Town of Mount Pleasant in South Carolina. Founded in 1837, it offers fire suppression and emergency services. The department conducts home inspections and installs smoke detectors. It works in association with Charleston County Emergency Medical Service to provide patient care solutions. The department handles hazardous spills and materials. It administers S.A.F.E. and Life and Fire Safety programs. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department additionally administers the Neighborhood Captain Program, which issues warnings and establishes a resource list for generators, chain saws, emergency building materials, and water sources and supplies.
