• Traffic Violations
  Everyone needs to drive a car and have a driver’s license. Traffic offenses can sometimes result in suspension of driving privileges and in many instances points and traffic citations can substantially increase insurance premiums. Traffic tickets are a source of revenue for government entities, so some are quite aggressive in writing tickets. In many circumstances, traffic citations can be dismissed, or points reduced. Some charges do not in fact constitute violations.

  Sexual assaults or other physical assaults which take place in a business parking lot, building or other area where there is inadequate lighting or security;

  A premises can be unsafe because it is an area where criminal activity has occurred in the past, or where inadequate security is provided. Sometimes attacks, robbery, rape and other crimes can give rise to premises liability claims if there is proof of prior incidents and inadequate security.
• Embezzlement
  This area of practice includes civil fraud claims and other causes of action intended to recover money against corporate officers, directors, agents, fiduciaries, trustees, or others arising from breach of trust, or breach of fiduciary duty, it includes claims against partners, family members or others who have taken property or money that does not rightfully belong to them, as well as conversion, or other claims arising from acts of dishonesty or embezzlement.

  Not including South Carolina. Many States and municipalities that have not yet legalized or decriminalized marijuana have laws, programs and established, sometimes-unwritten, procedures pertaining to prosecutorial discretion whereby marijuana charges are not formally prosecuted and whereby records of marijuana-related arrests are expunged.

  Offenses against persons include assault and battery, stalking, criminal domestic violence and murder. These cases are particularly sensitive to handle since they involve an alleged victim that is at the heart of the state’s prosecution of these types of cases.

  In order to have access to banking, marijuana businesses must be compliant with state law. To carry out its project Mason Law Firm had to demonstrate that the financial institution it represented was fully capable of complying with United States Department of Treasury and United States Department of Justice guidance, anti- money laundering laws and that it had the expertise to determine if the various licenses holders were acting in compliance with a voluminous set of new and complex state laws and regulations.

  Maritime claims are governed by Federal Law and are most often pursued in the United States District Courts. Sometimes negligently designed boats and defective equipment can also cause accidents which give rise to claims against boat manufacturers or dealers. Some other claims that arise under maritime law which do not involve injury are claims for incomplete or improper repair work on a vessel, claims of nonpayment or un-workmanlike performance on vessel repairs, claims that a marine supplier has sold defective goods or that a boat builder has defectively constructed a vessel. Other maritime matters commonly seen are breaches of contract for marine services, such as for a charter party, breach of warranty on a marine product, and other similar contract disputes.
