Update Oct 28, 2009: I got a call back from the owner this afternoon. He assures me that the headstone was completed and installed a couple of weeks after I had spoken to him in July. He apologized for not sending me a photo, and that he had everything for this put away as completed, so he had not thought any more about it, unfortunately. He also promised to take a new picture of the headstone at the gravesite when he goes out there next in a couple of weeks. So all seems to be OK, except for his oversight. He is a one-person do-it-all for his monument company, and he was overwhelmed at the time and was very apologetic. Apology accepted.

Ordered my mother's memorial headstone on March 18, 2009, the day before her funeral service. Today is Oct. 28, 2009 and I 'm still waiting. When I ordered it I was told it wouldn't be ready until after Memorial Day (end of May) because they had a lot of orders. That was acceptable, because their quality was recommended to me by a family who has used their services. They are supposed to send me a photo when it's made, so I can approve it before it's placed in the cemetery in a nearby town. I called on status in July and was told they are behind because of the unusual amount of rain they had been having. OK, so now it is October and the ground will probably start freezing in the near future, and poor Mom is still anonymous in Iowa and I'm here in California, and my brother is in Oregon; we can't oversee what's going on. It's difficult to have flowers delivered when no one can locate her gravesite in an unattended country cemetery. Nice family-owned business but service is heartbreaking.
