This zoo is appalling. The animals live in small, miserable exhibits, and appear to be poorly cared for. There is nothing pleasurable or educational about watching animals live out an awful existence. To top it off, admission is expensive, and everything about the place is dingy, depressing, and reeks of desperation.Please do not support such a disgraceful institution.

My granddaughter and I love the Metro Richmond Zoo. She is nine and we have been visiting it every year since she could walk. I think they add something new and different each time we come. They keep good care of their animals and we always have a good time when we spend the day there.
