Founded in 1965, the Central Vermont Community Action Council, also known as CVCAC, is a nonprofit agency that conducts various poverty alleviation programs for low-income individuals. It administers a variety of outreach, advocacy, weatherization, child care, community economic development, family and community support, housing, business development, Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Central Vermont Community Action Council s outreach programs include information, education, support and referral services for individuals. The agency is funded by state, local and private sources and Community Services Block Grant, which assists local agencies to fight poverty and promote self-sufficiency. Central Vermont Community Action Council maintains a location in Morrisville, Vt.
