Opened in 1975, PRT is a system that provides transportation to the West Virginia University campus community and other riders. It also provides research information to national and international transit authorities on system operations. The PRT provides the primary mode of transportation between Downtown Morgantown, the West Virginia University Downtown Campus, the Evansdale Campus and the Medical Center Complex for students, faculty and staff of the university and residents of the Morgantown area in West Virginia. The system transports more than 1.9 million riders. PRT is located in Morgantown, W.Va., and is a division of the Public Safety and Transportation Department of West Virginia University.
