National Energy Technology Laboratory, also known as NETL, is owned and operated by the U.S. Department of Energy. The laboratory implements energy and environmental research and development programs. It specializes in coal, natural gas and oil technologies, as well as the analysis of energy systems. National Energy Technology Laboratory also offers contract and project management services. The laboratory additionally handles international energy issues. It manages operations in Morgantown in West Virginia and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, as well as Houston.
