Obstetrician and Gynecologist Marlee Reardon, DO, specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology, plus minimally invasive surgery—including robotics. Dr. Reardon strives to provide excellent care to patients and to focus on them holistically. What would you like people to know about you as a physician? I realize that each patient has their own, unique story. I am open, caring and compassionate. Why did you decide to become a physician? As a young girl, I spent a lot of my time with my grandmother and grew up helping to take care of her. During these times, I realized my passion is caring for others, and this helped to shape my career choice. What do you enjoy most about working with patients? I enjoy learning about each patient’s unique story—who they are. It is also a blessing to help provide care during such a vulnerable time, like labor and delivery or surgery. I also love to experience the joy of family when delivering a child. How does your work improve lives? In obstetrics, I get to share the most important day in people’s lives. It’s truly an honor to share in the special moment of the birth of one’s child. I also believe that the care I provide helps to improve women’s quality of life. What are some interesting facts about you? I was born and raised in Ohio, and this is my first experience living out of state! Also, I have played piano since I was 6 years old. My hobbies include reading, swimming, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family. With which community and volunteer organizations are you involved? The Lakeland YMCA. I was a previous member of Best Buddies, and would love to become a part of a similar organization in the Lakeland area. What would you like to share about your family? I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe, and my parents, who live in Ohio.
