Located in Mora, Minn., Lakes and Pines Community Action Council is a private, nonprofit corporation that offers a variety of programs to assist low-income families and individuals. It serves consumers in Aitkin, Carlton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine counties in Minnesota. The corporation employs more than 100 staff members, including administration personnel, fiscal and data processing technicians, secretarial support, fuel assistance certifiers, advocates, and program managers and coordinators. Lakes and Pines Community Action Council develops policies, procedures and regulations to govern the operations, as well as monitors the finances, programs and performance of the agency. It supports early childhood and family development programs that provides preschool development for children between the ages of 3 and 5.
