- X-raysDental insurance can be quite confusing. There are varying copays, confusing treatment limitations, and unique maximal allowances per year. Our office understands the value of insurance benefits, and we will gladly process and file your claim free of charge. Should your insurance company have any questions about services rendered, we will submit dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report. All that is required is an insurance card or your group and individual policy number. If there are any concerns about coverage for services, we will often send a preauthorization letter to your insurance company to clarify coverage. Please understand that this is only an estimate based on the information available to us. The final obligation for treatment is between you and our office. We will assist you in any way that we can; however, there are no guarantees and payment is due regardless of the benefits paid by your insurance. Once the carrier has paid the claim, any difference will be due upon receipt of our statement. We encourage you to contact us if your policy has not been paid within 30 days.
- Teeth CleaningOnce your periodontal treatment has been completed, Dr. Cannilla or a specialist may recommend that you have regular maintenance cleanings (periodontal cleanings), three to four times a year. At these cleaning appointments, the pocket depths will be carefully checked to ensure that they are healthy. Plaque and calculus that is difficult for you to remove on a daily basis will be removed from above and below the gum line.
- Fluoride TreatmentVisit a qualified dentist for kids in Montville NJ for regular check-ups and to schedule fluoride treatments along with teeth cleaning.
- Dental SealantsOur team will also teach oral homecare techniques so that your child can learn how to effectively brush and floss, with your help at first, then on his or her own. We often recommend supplemental fluoride and dental sealants to ward off tooth decay in children. Sealants are thin, clear coatings that protect hard-to-clean back teeth from the sugars that cause tooth decay. Fluoride attracts other minerals to strengthen tooth enamel and ward off cavities. Sealants and fluoride supplements are quick and easy protective measures that can save your little one from cavities.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeA tooth-colored filling is composed of a composite resin material used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, extensive staining, or to close unwanted spaces. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then Dr. Cannilla can blend and mix shades to find the perfect color to match your natural teeth. The tooth/composite bond actually supports the remaining tooth structure, deterring breakage and insulating against temperature changes. The bonding procedure is usually completed in one visit, leaving you with a beautifully sculpted, natural-looking restoration.
- VeneersWhen bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and stain resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarettes. Their strength and resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
- CrownsA crown (or cap) is a covering that encompasses the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. Crowns are prescribed when a tooth or teeth are too badly decayed, broken or cracked to be easily restored with a filling. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
- Bridges® treatment concept replaces your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported by only four dental implants. Overall treatment time and cost is reduced because less implants are needed. The All-on-4

- Root Canal TreatmentRoot canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay, infection, or injury. Having a root canal done on a tooth is often the treatment of choice to save a tooth that would otherwise have to be extracted.
- Deep CleaningA professional deep cleaning: Twice-daily toothbrushing is ideal, but it’s best to treat your teeth every 6-months to a thorough deep-cleaning. This will remove plaque and tartar buildup that is missed during daily cleans or is to tricky to remove. It also polishes your teeth, gives you a great booster of fluoride and helps dental teams spot any signs of deterioration for early treatment.
- DenturesDentures are natural-looking removable dental appliances for the replacement of missing teeth. They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and can enhance your smile. Our practice provides personalized denture services that meet the needs and comfort levels of our patients.
- Dental ImplantsImplants are biocompatible posts that are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They are physically and biologically designed to attach to your jaw bone and become the foundation for a natural looking restoration. Your new tooth or teeth will have excellent stability and strength, and will look and feel like your natural teeth.

- Tooth Extractions
- Invisalign OrthodonticsInitially, Dr. Cannilla will evaluate your teeth and talk about any problems or goals you have for your smile. Once you and Dr. Cannilla establish that Invisalign® is the right teeth straightening option for you, impressions, photos, and x-rays of your teeth will be taken for fabrication of your custom aligners.
- BracesInvisalign® is removable. Unlike braces, you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
- Teeth WhiteningGenetics, aging and personal habits all contribute to the condition and color of our teeth. For example smoking or drinking coffee, tea or wine actually cause staining and discoloration. Brushing immediately after eating and drinking can help but it might not be enough. We often recommend teeth whitening because it’s by far the easiest way to transform your smile.
