The 7th Judicial District handles a range of civil and criminal cases. The district serves Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel counties in west-central Colorado. It serves a population of more than 101,000 in an area of over 9,000 square miles. The district employs a staff of nearly 60 full- and part-time people. The 7th Judicial District files approximately 11,660 county court cases annually. It also files up to 3,400 district court cases annually. The district maintains a community corrections board and probation department. The 7th Judicial District administers a variety of victim programs, such as CVC, VALE and Check Fraud.
