Founded in 1979, the Vermont Center for Independent Living is a nonprofit organization that provides support and care services for individuals suffering from various disabilities. The organization offers training services in independent living and self advocacy skills. Its deaf independence program offers assistance with educational, employment, communication, recreational, legal, financial and housing services. The Vermont Center for Independent Living offers support services for high school students and young adults with disabilities. The organization also offers job search assistance services. It provides food services for chronically ill patients. It employs a staff of program specialists, administrative assistants, operations officers and data entry professionals.
