Well the building is not too new, but its a nice clean place. They have a big parking lot, pretty spacious outside, nex to restaurant, lobby area was clean and so were rooms. Had reservation for non smoking king, it was a pretty big room. balcony view was exotic. you can see mountains far down from the balcony. it was beautiful. i would not suggest to stay in downtown monticello, its scary. This hotel is outside of downtown, and hey they have casino across from them. Would definately go back again!

We were going through the Catskills during a snowstorm. We weren't sure what kind of accommodations were available but had to stay overnight because of the weather. We stayed at the Best Western Monticello and really enjoyed it. The lobby decor is not quite as modern as our taste but the rooms are spacious and clean. The room decor is actually much better (in my opinion) than the lobby. We enjoyed the pool and there is a breakfast area which seems to be new/remodelled. The breakfast consisted of coffee/tea, bagels, fruits and cereal-it was nice not to have to leave, especially with the weather. The staff was very nice and especially helpful with the bad weather. The parking lot was plowed and salted early in the morning. Overall we would stay again and plan on doing so during the summer. It was a good value for the price- and the location/area is very scenic!

I booked on the Internet, and requested non-smoking room with 2 queen beds (their standard configuration, I believe) with AARP discount. Checking in was smooth. When it was noticed that I was walking with a cane, we were given a room close to the lobby, which also meant that it was close to the breakfast room, swimming pool, and vending machines. Everything in this motel is CLEAN. The property has been well maintained. The breakfast room is sunny and has all the food you would expect to find on an included Continental breakfast, and the tables at which you eat are separated from the food area. There is a small indoor swimming pool which you can see from a window in the hallway, and which has an enclosed outdoor area for sunning in the lounge chairs that are there. The rooms have wireless internet and televisions (older models, not fancy but functional) with a broad choice of channels.

We only stayed one night, but it was really great. We reserved a standard room, and it was huge! Everything was very clean. The hotel overall was quiet - in fact, we never heard anyone coming or going. Front desk staff was extremely friendly . Would definitely recommend to anyone travel to monticello ny right on rout 17

I have stayed so many times at his hotel, its never a bad experiance. Room is very clean (as always) and free breakfast is excellent. Cannot have more for the price paid. This is a out of no where area but still to maintain hotel in this area in this economy is impressive. Front desk is always willing to rearrange the room based on customer preference and request. I have not seen anyone like them before, they are always put customer on #1 priority. Best people and good rooms. I am happy with my stay here...
