I wanted to give you all a "Heads Up" on one of my final transactions in Monticello before I moved here to Las Vegas, in hopes that no one else gets screwed like I did..Before I moved I went to Monticello Auto and asked them to fix my Air conditioning since I would soon be in 100+ degree heat.They quoted me a price, which we agreed to.....then increased the price without notifying me till they were halfway done...too deep to back out.I cut them a check to pay for the services and it did not go thru...I dropped what I was doing and went straight back and paid the difference with a debit card.About 40 miles into my trip to Las Vegas, the A/C went out...The owner told me I was basically screwed and I was out of luck....So upon my arrival to Las Vegas, I brought my SUV into another shop and they determined that the People at Monti Auto incorrectly installed the A/C system and used cheap aftermarket parts...to make matters worse, my vehicle suffered other damages at the hands of Monti Auto.I now paid the new dealer ANOTHER $800 to fix the job that Monti Auto charged me $1500 to do originally.I filed a chargeback claim, along with invoices from both auto shops, indicated that the cheap parts Monti Auto used were at USA auto should they want them...etc. I found out on Saturday, that Monti Auto lied to the bank and the bank ruled in their favor....Today I contested it again, and it will go under review based on TRUTHFUL information.I believe that Monti Auto KNEW I had no one locally to do the job in the allocated time frame...they KNEW I was leaving town and desperate for work to get done...they KNEW I'd not be able to comeback to get it done right...I was an easy target for them.Bottom line, as far as I am concerned, and from what I've experienced, Monti Auto cannot be trusted...they have lied to me, lied to the financial institution, mis-represented themselves, exercised price gouging...the list goes on.I recommend you all think twice before you or any of your family and friends go there..
