Aurora Metals Division engineers and manufactures precision cast metal components from its state-of-the-art facilities in Montgomery, Ill. The company casts special and standard alloys, aluminum, bronzes, brass, copper, stainless steel and cast iron by a number of methods, including precision casting, vacuum die casting, vacuum cast impellers, permanent mold casting and sand foundry casting. The company was founded in 1899 as Aurora Metals Company. The name was changed after the company was involved in several acquisitions. The company s original purpose was to reclaim metallic lead from large waste piles left by the Aurora Smelting and Refining Company and use it to manufacture hardware and decorative items, such as picture frames and casket moldings.
