The Alabama Department of Transportation, also known as ALDOT, offers a range of road and bridge construction and maintenance services. It operates an air transportation bureau that issues flight request and cancellation forms. The department provides design, transportation planning, equipment procurement, and research and development solutions. The Alabama Department of Transportation maintains welcome centers and rest areas. It is comprised of more than five geographic divisions. The department also has training, public affairs and human resources bureaus. The Alabama Department of Transportation s equipment, procurement and services bureau handles the purchase, salvage and disposal of equipment. In addition, it administers the Industrial Access Road and Bridge Program. The department is governed by the State of Alabama.
