The Civil Office, managed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, serves more than 8,000 orders of civil litigation that are issued by the courts on a monthly basis. It is responsible for the service of subpoenas, lawsuits, evictions and executions. Located in Montgomery, Ala., the Civil Office also issues and records all pistol permits. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has over 120 deputies, nearly 85 correctional officers and approximately 55 clerical employees. Its investigative division is responsible for the investigation of felony crimes. The sheriff s office s patrol division responds to service calls and promotes good community relations. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office also operates specialized motorcycle, crime scene and drug enforcement units.
