Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives (AREA) is the statewide trade association in the United States. Based in Montgomery, Ala., the firm offers a wide range of services, such as governmental affairs, administrative services, political action committees, print shop, youth tours, electric cooperative foundation, regulatory compliance, communication, loss control, training and development and disaster assistance, to name a few. It caters to 22 electric distribution cooperatives, Power South Energy Cooperative and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
