Montevideo Middle School serves more than 400 students in grades five through eight. The school has various departments, such as English, mathematics, social studies and science. Additionally, its academic curriculum includes classes in reading, physical education, art, computer, and family and consumer science. The school also has technology education, health and music departments. Its athletic department offers a variety of sports activities, such as swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track, cross country, softball and golf. The school offers various other activities that include stage band, musical contests, speeches, and art and poster competitions. In addition, it organizes various contests related to mathematics, spelling, writing and science. The school is located in Montevideo, Minn., and is a part of the Montevideo Public Schools.
