MERCI, established in 1959, is a nonprofit organization that provides educational programs and support services to children with disabilities. It operates a developmental day center that provides training in personal care, grooming, socialization, recreation, vocational education and independent living skills. The programs offered by the organization include sensory stimulation, motion therapy, social and recreational activities. It also organizes fund-raising programs, and operates a 4,000-square-foot home that provides independent living services to patients with mental disorders and disabilities. The services offered by the home include rehabilitation, wellness and transportation, recreational activities, and emergency response system. MERCI is located in Monterey Park, Calif.
