Sadly if I was able to rank this a negative 5 I would. I was referred to this location and made the reservation after confirming the price through the stylist after she was given the approval from ahava. Once I got there at 9:03am instead of 9am I admit I had to park and was late. I walk in and ahava immediately asked what I was getting done as the stylist was saying hi to me. I answered and she started drilling me with questions and saying how what I expected to get done would be more money. I was shocked and stated I would head home as I was not notified of that but not to worry. I wasn't offended because it is her salon so those are her price changes and I can easily go elsewhere so it was okay. ahava looked offended and said no its fine we just wont wash your hair your hair is fine. She then brought it up 3 additional times in the matter of 10 minutes, complained about the hair I purchased for my locs extensions to the stylist (why did she buy these.... I don't use these... how are you installing... why are you installing that way) and kept pulling the stylist away to "train". After 30 minutes of that she said the stylist had to start because of the length of time the work takes and people have a schedule... (So why keep pulling her away from my char? Why start training's while she is working? Why rant in the middle of the store?) ... She then left and called the stylist and ordered her to go into the bathroom to talk to her over the phone. Really?! What is going on here. Once ahava returned to the store she asked my name and then proceeded to continue to call me 'honey' or 'sweety' and badger me for promo pictures as well as a review. I said no thank you. Ahava asked me "why are you not photogenic? plus this is help the stylist... you want to help her riiiight?" To which I replied no I just rather not have my picture taken without my consent. She continued for another 5 minutes about how it would hurt the stylist if I did not let them take pictures or write a review. I was so bothered by this harassment that I finally looked at her and stated how unprofessional her behavior was. That I will not write a review, I will not take a picture and I absolutely will not refer anyone to her training salon. She again became offended and was like why? why not. I explained that her hostile attitude and unwelcoming behavior is extremely off putting from the moment I entered the salon and I would not subject others to that. And I prefer to not be thrown into a training session without being notified first. Ahava then began blaming the incident on the newly hired stylist then stating they are not stylist but saying the stylist provided misinformation and that she didn't know a client was coming there, that she's a business owner, that she has been doing hair since she was 12, that she helps so many people, that she is tired as well as not used to being up before 1pm, that she knows how to run a business, that she's a healer and that people have never told her this before. I said to her multiple times this does not have anything to do with the new stylist but the interaction between ahava and myself. That I only recommend and stay with salons for years if I that first interaction is welcoming and informative. I stated I wasn't a new client to her newly hired stylist and that the stylist has been doing my hair for a few years now. That this conversation has nothing to do with the stylist nor what type of establishment she is running and if a business owner adamantly asked a new client to post a review as well as take pictures and they decline you should respect their wishes. Then she stated "I apologize and will no longer allow new stylists to book appointments last minute. Thank you for your feedback". .....It is sad that she cannot comprehend or take responsibility for her own actions, nor control her demeaning tone. I really hope that everyone makes their own decision about this location it is just sad that my experience was horrible.
