General Info
Hudson Valley Environmental Services has been providing residential and commercial asbestos property surveys and air monitoring since 1990. We use an accredited and certified asbestos laboratory that has earned laboratory NVLAP (National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program) accreditation in asbestos analysis. All of our employees have up to date training and are licensed to perform asbestos inspections. Properties built prior to 1980 or built with materials manufactured prior to 1980 are likely to contain materials made with harmful asbestos. Federal and state laws require that suspect asbestos containing materials be inspected and tested prior to any removal or disturbance. Asbestos has been a major health concern among insurance carriers, residents, building owners, property managers, tenants and employees for decades. Health concerns include asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma. Surveys begin with a visual inspection for suspect materials that may contain asbestos. Samples are collected by our licensed inspectors following all national, state and local guidelines and are submitted to an accredited asbestos lab for analysis. The results of the analysis and survey can be used to make recommendations for removing and/or controlling materials that contain asbestos. Every report includes original lab report and a follow up consultation to help remove or control the asbestos materials.
