Darrel and I (Susan Martin) got married at Swan Manor on Christmus day. We had 67 guest attend and found the food and accomidations just right for our needs. The day before we had a family reception in the banquet building and they provided flowers and a DJ. The food was out of sight, they provided a "Southern Style" fish fry on the lawn that included fresh "hush puppies" The owners were nice enough to pick up our guest from the airport in Charlotte the day before and let them stay overnight. One of the owners lent us his Caddy to move guest around Monroe for the weekend. They also have a unique home in downtown Monroe, and gave us a personal tour. My folks

I am disgusted at this place for the way they treated my brother and new sister in law. They paid a large amount of money and trusted in this to be a good location for thier wedding and all they got was one headache after another, oh and they were also ripped off (the new owner cheated them out of their deposit)! If you are a bride PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! The new owners broke one promise after another. For instance my brother rented the entire home & should have been able to have some guests be able to stay the night since the house is quite large but the new owners were LIVING THEIR THEMSELVES!!! They ended up leaving the night of the wedding I believe but they only had one bedroom furnished, the master bedroom after promising they would have furniture in the other rooms. After paying a LARGE sum the guests had to sleep on air mattresses they brought themselves or on a sleeping bag. The reception itself did not have working AC in the middle of a HOT August day.
