A Step Above is a really positive place. It's like a big family! The staff are well trained and care about the students. There are classes for the new and recreational dancer as well as the more serious pre-professional dancer. There are classes for all ages, even adults.

Both of my daughters have been dancing at A Step Above Dance & Music Academy for almost their whole life. My older daughter was six when she started after a very bad experience at another Monona studio at age 3-1/2. She attended A Step Above and was part of the dance company all the way through high school. My younger daughter started dancing at A Step Above at 3-1/2 years old. She is now a senior in high school and has continued to grow and mature as a dancer and she is pursing dance in college. A Step Above has provided a wonderful atmosphere were serious dancers are taught excellent technique and are pushed to excel in their skill while maintaining a positive, non-critical environment. They strive to make all of their dancers better but understand that not everyone is looking for a professional program. Therefore, less serious dancers can enjoy classes as more of a social experience while still learning to perfect technique without feeling like they are less important.

Our daughter has been dancing at A Step Above for over seven years. We absolutely love the positive environment, the professional staff and the beautiful building. This studio is truly a gem! Our daughter has never once asked to stay home from dance. She adores her teachers and the friends she has made at the studio. We highly recommend A Step Above!

My son started dancing at A Step Above ten years ago. Because the studio is so far from where we live he tried dancing at a studio closer to our house, but came back to ASA because it's such a positive place to dance! They also offer classes for grownups as well as voice lessons. Altogether a wonderful studio -- worth driving from the far south-west side!

My daughter has been taking lessons from A Step Above for nearly 10 years. I guess that says it all doesn't it. We keep coming back. She is also involved in the affiliated non-profit company A Step Beyond and loves it. For our daughter this is a fantastic outlet for teen energy and a great social environment outside of her school. Everyone here is so nice, my daughter loves taking dance here. We couldn't imagine being anywhere else!

This is the best studio in town! Positive, family friendly environment and the teachers are great. My daughter loves going to class and I don't have to worry that she is being taught inappropriate stuff. We love the organization and the new facility is wonderful. We wouldn't go anywhere else!
