This is an update to the post I placed on December 12, 2010. Dr. Caviale has seen both my husband & daughter. My husband had a Torn Rotator Cuff. Dr. Caviale NEVER sent him for an MRI, just sent him to Physical Therapy (PT). Physical Therapy didn't work. My husband did seek a 2nd opinion, which resulted in an MRI being done & surgery being completed within 1 month after the initial 2nd opinion. My daughter had Tennis Elbow & also had something else on the same elbow. Dr. Caviale sent her for an MRI & Bone Scan, both of which came back negative. Then he was going to send her for a 2nd MRI, which I said no. We had our Primary Care Physician (PCP) take a look at it & confirmed our suspicions that it was indeed what we thought it was (as my daughter had it before). The PCP sent us to a General Surgeon who removed it with no problem & we didn't have to head for the hospital. Please be careful if you have something like this & the Doctor wants to send you for both an MRI & a bone scan. Get a 2nd opinion.

Very good Orthopedist

I've been going to Dr. Caviale for approximately 2 1/2 years now. He's wonderful at his specialty, doing Hands & Upper Extremities only. I had arthritis in both my thumbs, resulting in it being difficult for me to use both of them. Dr. Caviale did surgery on both thumbs to remove the Arthritis. It worked wonders. Now I'm able to have full use of both thumbs on both hands. I'm also having shoulder problem (either Arthritis or Impingement Syndrome) which I'm going to have him check. Dr. Caviale is very patient with everyone, knows what he's doing, etc. If I have a lot of questions, Dr. Caviale takes the time to answer them, whether he has a lot of patients waiting to see him or not. I've already referred my husband to him for an Ulner Nerve problem he has. He, too, really likes Dr. Caviale. We wouldn't hesitate to refer others to Dr. Caviale for their Hand & Upper Extremity needs.

Dr. Caviale is a wonderful specialist. He knows what he's doing & has a good knowledge of the hand & upper extremeties. I had hand surgery & he was always available to answer questions that I might have. He also has a good sense of humor & always has a cheerful smile on his face. I'd recommend him to anyone.
