Griggs Elementary School is a part of Mobile County Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Founded in 1958, Griggs Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. Its staff includes teachers, teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, specialists, counselors, nurses and instructional aides. The school supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, chorus, music and physical education. In addition, Griggs Elementary School provides medical care and guidance and counseling services to students. It operates several student organizations, such as a student council and book club.
