LifeQuest, based in Mitchell, S.D., is a private, nonprofit community agency that provides services and support to people with developmental disabilities. The organization provides residential services in more than five primary locations. The locations include family-style homes, with up to 12 people sharing each home, and apartment settings and complexes, owned and managed by local businesses. The family-style home settings provide people the opportunity to participate in activities that are similar to family experiences. People receiving services are provided staff for individualized assistance. LifeQuest also provides services and supports for people living independently in their own homes. Additionally, it operates an in-house, paid work and production program to provide training and instruction for people receiving services. People receive training to learn skills necessary to obtain a job in the community.
