Established in 1970, Newport Language and Speech Centers specializes in the speech, language and occupational therapies. The facility is approved by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance (CBMQA). Its pathologists and pathology assistants participate in a range of educational programs. It provides treatment for apraxia, dyarthria and dyphagia disorders. Newport Language and Speech Centers offer pediatric services, including speech, cognitive and hearing impairments. It conducts a variety of programs for teaching languages and communication and social skills to children. Newport Language and Speech Centers additionally provides treatment for dementia, tongue thrust, cancer, laryngectomy, brain injuries, and voice and fluency disorders. The facility maintains a location in Mission Viejo, Calif.
