If you are looking for a church that is biblically based, is committed to individuals and families , honoring God and serving others you will want to visit Antioch Church in Overland Park . My husband and I have been bible-believing Christians for over 35 years. We have attended Antioch for the last 12 years after returning to the Kansas City area. The teaching, worship and atmosphere are all biblically-based. The mission of Antioch is to love God and love people. Antioch does that. They have many outreaches to others in the community in times of need on a regular basis. They teach and have programs for all ages. Since my husband and I started attending our children and grandchildren are all now attending as well. It's home. From the nursery to the elders of the community all are served and taught. The worship team makes it evident they honor God and it is evident they are committed to excellence in their ministry. Regular members come from all backgrounds. The teaching is biblically based. I recommend you visit Antioch and seek if it is where God wants you to be.

Not a real church!

I have grown up in church my entire life and im also a military brat so ive been to many different kinds of churches but this is not a real church. it felt more like a cult! there were people sitting around us that were blabbering as if they thought they were speaking in tounges, the music was all written by them and the songs had phrases in them like "there is no God like our God" instead of there is no God but our God. They kept repeating words or phrases over and over again which was weird all in itself but every once in a while one of them would tell everyone to raise there hands while they were repeating whatever was being repeated at the time as if they wanted to lift up whatever meaningless word or phrase was being said and make it into something to worship. The message that was being preached was basicly if you don't tithe at least 10% of what you earn you are "cursed" and the preacher kept taking passages out of The Bible that didnt even have anything to do with tithing and twisting the words around to try and prove his point. Another thing he said that made me mad was the more you tithe the more God will help you out and if you don't at all then you're on your own. AND he kept on quoting Larry the Cable Guy and saying other really really unchristian like things while he was suppose to be preaching God's word.
We left the church feeling creeped out and totally uncomfortable and I have never had that happen at any other other church before. I highly reccomend that you try every other church before you try this one. This is the last place I would ever want to raise my family.

Was looking for a church in the area and a friend recommended me this place. I was a little unsure at first because of how large the building was and the amount of people that go there, but I have come to love this chuch. Ryan Slavens recently became head pastor after pastor Dennis Slavens stepped down but that hasn't slowed down the effectiveness of the ministry at all, if anything I'd say the church is still growing. All-In-All this is a fine church and I'd be happy to recommend it to anyone.

I love this church, I was raised in a Bible based church my entire life and now at 43 I leave Antioch every week feeling closer to God. this is a Bible based church and accepts and loves on everyone who walks through the door. There is nothing cultish about it, they preach the word of God and do it with love.
