A Chance to Grow, founded in 1982, is a professionally staffed nonprofit health care agency, governed by a board of directors and subject to state and federal guidelines. The organization offers assistance to all children, including those with learning problems, developmental delays and brain injuries. A Chance to Grow uses various approaches in developing individual programs for children. Its staff of multi-specialists develops a child's schedule that includes, sensory integration, physical and speech therapy, Montessori techniques, osteopathic treatment, direct instruction and fundamental education. Its New Visions School is a K-7 public charter school with an enrollment of more than 200 children. The organization s optometry clinic offers vision therapy for children with learning disabilities related to vision. The clinic also offers traditional eye exams and corrective lenses for children and adults. It is open to general public and accepts most health insurance plans.
