I just stayed here for the first time, and it was great. A great neighborhood to walk in, across from a nice park and the Art Institute, near some really good local restaurants. The management staff was really nice. I've never stayed in a hostel before, but if you're a hotel or B&B person who doesn't mind not having all the amenities (and likes not having to pay for them) the private room/private bath space that is available is a great low cost alternative.
