The Minier Cemetery is a peaceful and a place of beauty, the historical aspect is contained within the cemetery and town. The German familes who settled in the area early on. Many of the generational families still reside in the Tazewell county area. The cemetery have many of the German family names that represent the home land of Lippe Kleeve and other areas of German and Switzerland. Most of the families that are in the area of Minier are related or semi related to one another. I have returned several past years and the residence of Minier show what a true hometown means. In a way it is in my mind the families Our town, the residence pull together for one another. When my father past away in a different state and was buried in Minier the town even opened up neighbors homes for families who traveled from other states for the couple days they would be there. This is a town I have visited through out my life because my parents were raised there. This is a true genuine town in America
