- Employment DiscriminationIn these increasingly complex times, our Labor & Employment, Municipal & Election Law department is available to assist government entities, private businesses, and individuals in all aspects of private sector workplace and public sector law. Several of our attorneys serve, or have served, as elected officials, enabling them to provide a working perspective on the legal issues involved in interacting with a state or local municipality or government agency. The firm is proud to have been selected as Counsel to numerous municipal entities including counties, townships, villages, and special districts. The Labor & Employment unit represents national and regional employers in both the public and private sector. It advises clients on day-to-day workplace issues, including hiring and termination of employees, drafting of employment agreements, and the application of such laws as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. On behalf of employers, the firm regularly negotiates collective bargaining agreements and handles grievances, mediations, and arbitrations. Attorneys from the firm regularly appear before the Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board as well as the New York State Division of Human Rights and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The firm represents clients in both federal and state court in matters including, but not limited to, discrimination claims, sexual harassment, confidentiality agreements, and non-compete agreements.

- Premises LiabilityThe Negligence Defense department represents carriers, self-insureds, and insurance company-assigned clients. This includes premises liability, automobile accidents, declaratory judgments, subrogation claims, SUM claims, and no-fault litigation. With superior practical knowledge of the litigation process, the firm is able to represent clients in the most cost-effective manner, while achieving the desired results.
