Regal-Beloit is an international manufacturer of electrical and mechanical motion control products. The company s mechanical products include gears and gearboxes, marine transmissions, high-performance automotive transmissions and ring and pinions, manual valve actuators and cutting tools. It serves an array of markets, including heavy industry and high technology companies. Regal-Beloit was founded in 1955 as a manufacturer of special metalworking tools. The company nearly doubled in size in 1997 with the addition of Marathon Electric Manufacturing Corporation of Wausau, Wis. In September, 2000, Regal-Beloit acquired Leeson Electric Corporation of Grafton, Wis. Most recently in 2004, the company nearly doubled in size with the acquisitions of General Electric s Commercial AC Motors and HVAC/Refrigeration Motors and Capacitors businesses. The company maintains headquarters in Beloit, Wis., and operates more than 65 manufacturing and service facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
