Founded in 1889, Georgia College & State University, formerly known Georgia Normal & Industrial College, serves more than 5,500 students, with over 300 full-time faculties. It enrolls up to 35 students for each program. The college additionally enrolls up to 25 students for seminars, tutorials and honors courses. Georgia College & State University offers nearly 35 undergraduate degree courses and more than 25 graduate programs. It operates the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, J. Whitney Bunting School of Business, John H. Lounsbury School of Education and School of Health Sciences. The college also provides athletic for men and women, such as basketball, fast-pitch softball, tennis, cross-country and soccer. Georgia College & State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate s, baccalaureate, master s and specialist degrees. It maintains a location in Milledgeville, Ga.
