Abell Junior High School, established in 1993, is a public school offering educational instruction to students in grades seven and eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 800 students and is a part of the Midland Independent School District. It features cobalt-blue, conical-shaped gales, glass-doored, sound proof practice rooms, specially coated magnetic write-on, wipe-off boards in classrooms, computerized library and motion sensors in bathrooms. The school s two-story industrial technology area features large garage door access, chain hoist and pull-down electrical outlets. It offers various extracurricular activities, such as student council, newspaper, yearbook and Spanish club.
