Hospital Purchasing Service, also known as HPS, is a nonprofit, member-owned and operated group purchasing association that offers a variety of cost saving services. Its clients include alternative health care providers, health systems and alliances, physician offices and clinics, assisted and independent living facilities, schools and surgery centers. Hospital Purchasing Service maintains a staff of more than 30 employees. It also has a design team that provides on-site consulting and project coordination services, including space and budget planning and product specification. The organization is affiliated with MedAssets, which is one of the premier cost management companies in the United States. Hospital Purchasing Service has been operational since 1949 and is located in Middleville, Mich.
