Laszlo S. Harmat, D.O., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in conditions of the shoulder, elbow, and hand. Dr. Harmat joined our team of physicians at Precision Orthopaedic Specialties, Inc. in the fall of 2006 after having practiced in the Akron area the previous 3 years. He brings with him his experience as a general orthopaedic surgeon as well as his special talents as an upper extremity specialist. Dr. Harmat grew up in Geauga county graduating from West Geauga High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from John Carroll University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his internship at Merida South Pointe Hospital and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital where he was the Chief Resident his last year. He completed the Cleveland Combined Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Metro General Hospital. He is affiliated with several professional organizations including the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopaedics and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Harmat is Chief of Surgery at University Hospital Geauga Medical Center and is the Medical Director for The Rehabilitation Pavilion at The Weils, “A Senior Living Community” in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He is also on staff at Lake Health Tripoint Medical Center. Dr. Harmat is versed in all aspects of general orthopaedics including arthroscopy of the joints and total joint replacement. With his special skills in treating upper extremity conditions, microsurgery and total shoulder replacement, Dr. Harmat adds a unique facet to Precision. He enjoys the variety that encompasses the practice of general orthopaedics with special interests in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist.
