Operational since 1959, the Counseling Service of Addison County is a local community mental health center that offers a range of professional mental health and developmental services. It specializes in the areas of substance abuse treatment, psychiatry, psychology, mental health counseling and social work. The center also provides family and child therapy programs. The Counseling Service of Addison County offers residential support services for patients in group homes and supervised and supported apartments. The center provides medical, financial, social, recreational, educational, legal and vocational case management services. In addition, it offers employment services that include vocational assessment and evaluation and job training. The Counseling Service of Addison County provides a community rehabilitation and treatment program for people with psychiatric difficulties. It offers transitional housing options for children and families. The center is a member of the United Way of Addison County.
