Standish Oil in Middleboro has been delivering my oil since at least 2009. The woman who answers the phone is NOT the reason why I stayed, she can be very condescending and not customer service oriented at all, most of the time if she answers it is like you are bothering her. Today I called and asked about a delivery today - hoping but not planning on it - and she was SO RUDE to me!! She told me and I quote "You cannot call at the 11th hour in this cold and expect a delivery TODAY! AND it is a 150 gallon limit!" this was her response AFTER she asked me if I was a customer and I told her I was I responded that I was not expecting anything and was just asking her a question. I am a true believer in loyalty being rewarded and working in the Hospitality industry I know that 90% of a good experience is the CUSTOMER SERVICE! won't find that here!

I was a loyal customer with Standish Oil for over 28 years. I had a problem with my oil tank. The problem was discovered during a delivery. The technician was called and responded later in the day. My tank is an above ground vertical storage tank and a significant amount of water got into the secondary containment section. The technician asked my wife if she had a wet vac so he could remedy the situation. When she answered that we do not, he declared he would figure out something and would be back tomorrow. He never showed up the next day. The office indicated he would be there the next day and he never showed. This, in my opinion, is unacceptable behavior. After a couple of conversations with the office people, my wife received a call from the owner and he proceeded to make excuses for the situation. At this point I interrupted the conversation. I explained to Mr. Lucas this was totally unacceptable. He started yelling at me and demanded an apology and informed me he did not want the job anyway. Mr. Lucas must be the rudest business person I have ever dealt with in my 58 years on this earth. I called the local competitor and the issue was resolved in 15 minutes.

Extremely disappointed with the service of Standish Oil. I've been a customer for 5 years until recently we requested a boiler cleaning/service albeit late in the summer, didn't hear back from them until late November. Also, we were set up for auto delivery. Recently I came home to a cold house because we ran out of oil!
