Dr. Nguyen is an internationally recognized minimally invasive heart surgeon who believes small incisions make a big difference. His outcomes score in the top 98.7% in the national STS database. He is the director of minimally invasive valve surgery, chief medical executive of Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Barry T. Katzen Endowed Chair, and a professor of surgery at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. As Chief Medical Executive, he oversees cardiac surgery, cardiology, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology across the 12-hospital health system. Trained at Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Columbia, and Emory, he has published nearly 300 peer-reviewed articles.
