Dr. Burks grew up in Orlando, FL. He obtained his liberal arts degree at Rollins College with magna cum laude distinction, subsequently completing medical school at the University of Miami with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. He completed Neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. At UM he obtained CAST accredited fellowship training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery and peripheral nerve surgery. He maintains an active lifestyle playing tennis and basketball. He enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction.

I think Doctor Burks is amazing physician. He spent time in my consultation and was concerned for my condition. It seems like cared for me as a human being, not only a number that represents money. I would definitely refer people and come back to him.
Dr. Burks immediately gave me a sense of comfort and professionalism. He explained the risks and benefits of surgery and asked if I had any questions or concerns regarding the procedure. He is easily accessible for follow up questions & returned my calls promptly.
