- Medical Weight LossProstate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed in the United States and affects approximately one in every six men. Early prostate cancer has no symptoms and is usually discovered with a routine PSA test. As prostate cancer progresses, lower urinary tract symptoms may occur such as a weak urinary stream, difficulty starting your stream, or getting up at night. Late symptoms may include weight loss, back or hip pain. However, these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have prostate cancer.
- Male InfertilityStatistically, about 13-15% of all couples will experience some sort of difficulty when trying to conceive a child. Infertility can be caused by either partner or even by both persons. If the male partner is the source of these issues, then this is known as a case of male infertility.

- UltrasoundHIFU is a precise and targeted therapy that reduces the risk of complications and impact to quality of life caused by surgery and radiation. HIFU uses ultrasound energy, or sound waves, to heat and destroy specifically targeted areas of tissue. During HIFU, the sound waves pass through healthy tissue without causing damage. However, at the focal point of the sound waves the tissue temperature rises rapidly to 90 degrees Celsius destroying the targeted tissue. The same principles are used when light is focused through a magnifying glass.
- MRIAs with other forms of cancer, bladder cancer is a product of a mutation within the cells that make up the bladder’s tissue. This mutation typically results in the formation of a cancerous tumor, which can be difficult to detect early on since there is no way to view the internal structure of the bladder without imaging tests such as an MRI.
- X-Rays
- Computed TomographyFirst, Dr. Simoncini will conduct a physical exam and discuss the patient’s medical history and current symptoms with them directly. If Dr. Simoncini feels that further testing is warranted, he will most likely refer the patient to a radiologist to complete a CT scan, PET scan, MRI, or ultrasound. Other exams can also include a biopsy and blood test among a few others. Make sure you discuss your diagnostic options and preferences with Dr. Simoncini.
- ChemotherapyChemotherapy is not a standard treatment for most cases of prostate cancer, but can be useful in cases of advanced prostate cancer where the disease has metastasized to the bones or when Non –responsive to more conventional hormonal therapy.

- Cyst Removal
- VasectomyA vasectomy is a form of birth control during which the vas deferens, the tubes that carry sperm, are cut. When the tube is cut, there is no way for sperm to be released from the penis. This procedure is considered a permanent form of birth control, but it is possible to have a reversal surgery should the patient change their mind in the future.
- Robotic SurgerySpecifically, the da Vinci Nephrectomy procedure is very effective in removing cancerous tissue while inflicting minimal side effects on the patient themselves. Dr. Simoncini may also suggest that the patient undergo a partial nephrectomy or nephron- or kidney-sparing surgery. During this procedure, only the tumor and a margin of tissue are removed, and the kidney is reconstructed to preserve its function. This surgery, especially when performed with the da Vinci Robotic System, is becoming more and more the mainstay of this type of treatment. The da Vinci robotic surgical platform includes cutting-edge technology that allows the surgeon to control miniature robotic instruments using a 3D, high-definition visualization console. Because the instruments can exactly mimic the surgeon’s hand motions in miniature, the robot hands never tremor and the 3D magnified view is superior to that of the naked eye, da Vinci robotic surgery offers more precision and control than open partial nephrectomy or traditional laparoscopic nephrectomy.
- Reconstructive Surgery
- BotoxUsually, the cause of OAB has to do with a dysfunction of the nerves and muscles of the bladder. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including excessive alcohol consumption, having diabetes, side effects from a new medication, and more. It is also entirely possible for a person to never know the true cause of their overactive bladder, but thankfully they are often still able to treat the condition using Botox injections.
- Laparoscopic SurgeryBoth minimally invasive surgical options require one or a few small incisions that doctors use to insert surgical equipment and a camera for viewing. In laparoscopic surgery, doctors use special long-handled tools to perform surgery while viewing magnified images from the laparoscope (camera) on a video screen.
