Merion Mercy Academy is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory school that is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. The academy enrolls more than 400 girls in grades nine through 12 and offers a range of academic and extracurricular programs. Its academic curriculum includes arts, English, French, Latin, Spanish, mathematics, music, science, social studies and theology. The academy provides a variety of academic clubs, such as world affairs, Spanish, history and forensics clubs, a fine arts society, ensemble group, yearbook, student council and the National Honor Society. Its more than 27,000-square-foot campus includes a chapel, students study center, administrative suites, weight and aerobics rooms, classrooms and meeting rooms. The school is recognized by the Department of Education and has received the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. It is approved by the Middle States Association for Secondary Schools. The academy is located in Merion Station, Pa.
