Mercer Island Youth & Family Services, also known as MIYFS, provides coordinates and advocates human services for the community of Mercer Island. The firm offers services that include individual and family counseling, senior adult outreach, and alcohol and drug prevention and intervention. It also provides volunteering and leadership development, advocacy and community planning, family assistance and support, employment and juvenile court diversion services. Mercer Island Youth & Family Services works in partnership with the City of Mercer Island and the Mercer Island School District and receives support from private contributions and grants, fundraising and special events and revenues generated by volunteer-based thrift shop. Located in Mercer Island, Wash., it is one of the departments of the City of Mercer Island.
