Founded in 1965, Opportunities Industrialization Center West, also known as OICW is a nonprofit job training and placement center. The organization specializes in a range of training and educational programs. It offers vocational training in a variety of subjects, such as culinary arts, office skills, construction trades, electronics, telecommunications and nursing. It also organizes workshops on computer literacy and academic skills. In addition, Opportunities Industrialization Center West operates a child development center that offers care and education for toddlers and preschoolers. The organization s additional services include counseling and job placement. It also conducts various cultural and recreational events. Located in Menlo Park, Calif., Opportunities Industrialization Center West is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
