      Our proximity to the Mississippi and Wolf rivers offers opportunities for learning through outdoor education that simply can’t be found elsewhere. Our outdoor River Garden and Amphitheater overlooking the Harbor Town Marina is an ideal spot for school gatherings and performances. MMS is committed to offering a variety of after-school enrichment activities each semester. Because of the curriculum requirements related to our accreditation as an AMI Montessori school, we are not able to provide extra-curricular learning activities during the regular school day. As an alternative, MMS is committed to offering a variety of after-school enrichment activities each semester. Activities vary from year to year and have recently included: photography, art, pottery, cooking, drama and Spanish. Additional fees for enrichment classes apply. Call the school office at 527-3444 for times, topics and fees.
      Associations
      AMI recognition assures prospective parents that the school maintains the AMI standards based on Dr. Maria Montessori's original methods. The Maria Montessori School is accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), which was founded by Maria Montessori in 1929 to maintain the integrity of her life’s work. AMI/USA is a branch office in the United States whose core focus is to help children attain their full potential in society through Montessori education. MMS is an AMI Recognized school, meaning it has an AMI-trained teacher at the appropriate age level in every classroom.
